The celebrant low down Okay, okay, so it's not the most inspired first blog for a celebrant but we all have to start somewhere right? So let's get cracking! I'm guessing if you've found your way to my website, www.hjceremonies.com, you may already have a good idea of...
I’d heard of the ‘lock’ phenomenon but hadn’t seen it in the flesh (or should that be rusted metal?) until this week, when I was taking in the beauty of the Derbyshire town of Bakewell. A small, pedestrian bridge spanning the River Wye is completely covered in locks...
Sharing your best day with your best mate Not to put too fine a point on it I like to skulk around on wedding forums on social media. Sound a bit creepy? It’s really not I promise. It’s just such a good way to find out what couples planning their wedding are thinking,...
Wedding anxiety It’s a real thing. And I’m not talking the jitters, those butterflies in the belly that all people get before they say their I Do’s. Oh and it’s not those wedding night nerves either (according to a survey by WeddingWire last year, less than 40% of...
Thanks for joining me! Good company in a journey makes the way seem shorter. — Izaak Walton
"Our day was perfect."
Helen took the time to visit us in our home and meet with Isla to make sure she was completely relaxed before her 'big day', taking the time to listen to our anecdotes, memories and pass a tissue when I cried (and I did that a few times!). The result was a perfect..... I was going to say 'script' but it was so much more than that. It was a story about the journey of our lives together as a family and how both our daughters have made that so wonderfully complete. It was a celebration of our wonderful, constantly hungry, whirlwind of a fabulous daughter!

"You made it."
Thank you so much for making our day so special. You made us feel relaxed and more at ease, you are such a lovely person and we couldn’t of found anyone who could of done it better than you.

"everything we'd hoped and more."
We just wanted to say an enormous THANK YOU, from the bottom of our hearts. Our ceremony was everything we'd hoped and more. It means a lot that you came all the way down from Yorkshire! Everyone said how fabulous you were. The whole day was perfect and that was kicked off with your wonderful words.
With love, Amy & Mitch
